A Very Certain Future (albeit not a good-looking one)

Just to update our current situation...

WE GOT SILVER AT RE FINALS!

And that was the best result in our category.

So what that means is that we will have to present at the RE Congress on 7 October 2009 at the Humanities Hub, with a totally revamped presentation after the judges at the RE Final blasted us for totally boring them with the methodology and surveys and stuff, and 'if' we got into Congress we would need to change the presentation a lot.

Well, we got in.

That also means that we would most likely need to rearrange "Hand in Hand" and "Voices that Care".

Correction. I (maybe Bryan would join me) would need to rearrange "Hand in Hand" and "Voices that Care".

Oh what a stressful life. And to think Joseph thought we would never get past RE Semifinals...

Uncertain Future

Hi, I'm dropping by on this blog, even though this blog probably already served its purpose. I'll just add in more details anyway.

Well yesterday, because our group got into the RE semi-finals (surprisingly), we had to present to three more judges. This time we got more questions, and found even more ways to improve on our project, at least so we can apply those changes next year, if not now.

We still don't know if we got through the finals... :|

EDIT (19/9):

WOW WE GOT IN! :D

Now we have to really prepare for the next presentation...

Resumed

Okay, we're back! We don't have as much time today to work, because due to H1N1, we can't stay back past lunchtime.

So far, we've finished research on the different music genres, now moving on to the background information on the songs we're working on. Rearrangement is still in progress, and we've also started crafting out the report.

We really have to work faster now... :P

What's happened so far...

One thing to clarify: our group isn't just made up of 4 members, the 5th member just cannot post on our blog yet.

Anyway, we're all in the middle of doing our individual portfolios. The survey analysis has been completed, now we'll research on the various musical genres. (Mainly the genres that most of the students surveyed expressed their preference to)

I'll end here for now. Don't know what else to put yet...

RE Meeting

We're in the middle of the RE meeting right now. The survey results have been compiled; now to finalise the survey analysis and decide what musical style to go for.

So, later we'll be researching on the different particular musical styles, including classical, rock, pop etc, so that we can imitate that style in our rearrangements. Obviously we can't change the style of our Alma Mater song or the Institution Anthem, so this is meant for the other batch songs.

We'll let you know on the other details soon... :)

Introductions

Hi all, we are a group of Secondary 3 boys from Raffles Institution. We all like playing music and we all like making music, which is why we are doing an Research Education project on music arrangement. This is our group blog, where we can continue to communicate even if we don't see each other often. This group blog will also help to archive our group progress. We will continue to keep you updated on our progress!
